japanese comedy and the brothel situation
i saw a japanese person walk into a tree yesterday and it was really funny. it just made me giggle so much. Not because she was japanese obviously but i think the combined effect of a foreign language and the tree - head collision just was doubly comic. i wasnt even in a particularly giggly mood.it was sort of 'you've been framed' comedy situation: you sit there criticising the awfulness of the programme (even now they have sacked both jeremy beadle and that rather plump woman - Lisa, so it has marginally improved) and how its just not funny and then suddenly some really stupid clip comes up and suddenly a laugh just escapes from your mouth, and there is no control.
i don't have a thing against japanese people but its just some of them are often very fond of wearing tweed. I think that's quite strange in most people (even my tax lecturer) but this particular tweedily [sounds like she's related to vic - i assure you she's not!] clad lady was wheeling a pink fold up bicycle up senghennydd road. pure comedy.
anyway, in home related news, the crime hotspot that is my street has seen a few excitements in recent months (especially one uber-exciting car-flipping-over-drunken man-fleeing evening) including gaining knowledge that there is an open brothel in our road. I don't mean an open brothel as in everyone can see whats going on, or even see it actually, rather that its not closed down. BBC Wales reported the police raids on brothels around the area the other night, and rather helpfully told us that they are open for business as usual despite the raids. I know you're supposed to report the news: but hey, spare a thought for us who live within yards of it - by not showing shots of the surrounding shops to the back alley where its located thus realising I CAN SEE IT FROM MY BEDROOM WINDOW.
just dont tell my mum.
